All photos were taken on my phone which is why they’re not brilliant quality. I totally forgot about doing this during work (probably since my manager was in here) but there wasn’t much to take photos of, except cages of groceries that were delivered!

I’m up at 5.28am, even though I don’t start work til 7am.

I make a cup of coffee in the best cup in the world - my ‘Best Girlfriend In The World’ cup that Chris bought me after we’d been going out for a month.

I check my email, feeds and stuff. Notice the HUGE cracks on my laptop moniter. Roll on June when I get access to my savings through work and I can replace it.

Put on my makeup… Hell I hate photos that are face on, I look so… huge!

My phone - I take all my photos with this since my camera is at Chris’ and I need to get batteries for it.

I stick my hat on (hey it’s cold outside) and take a picture of my eye. Because I’m cool like that.

Then I decide that ironing my uniform would be a good idea.

Can’t forget my badges, they’re the most important bit of my uniform (aside from my shop keys)

My dog Abbi comes in the car with me and mum every morning when she runs me to work. Abbi waits at the door every morning for us.

Out to the carpark. It’s still really dark outside..

I goto the back to discover that I have no cash, just a tenner which I half with my mum since I pay petrol money.

This is my shop, well the first aisle anyway. The fruit and veg are my section and I’m glad to see it looking full and clean. Shame there’s no semi-skimmed milk left, I hope the milk delivery comes early.

The office. This is where the supervisors & manager hang out. Well I say that, today was only me and my manger who was in at 8.30am. We have a laugh in here, but work too - doing orders and money and paperwork and stuffs. Yes, stuffs.

I swear that the back shop is tidier than the shop floor sometimes. This is what I see as I walk out the office. I notice that some things will go out.

Go outside for a cigarette at 7.05am and notice that the papers have been left behind the shop again. Finish my cigarette and take them in to the shop to put out.

I do the money and it all balances out. Makes a change…

Super zoomed in view of my shop. Well the sign for the shop. To the right of that Spar sign is a hill and the shop sits at the top.

Waiting on a bus… is this it? Nope!

So when is my bus due? ‘Every 10 minutes or better’. My mum calls and says she’ll pick me up. Result.

I come home and crash out for 6 hours! Shocking. Wake up at some time during the 6 hours and the dog’s sleeping on top of me. Aww.
So, there we go. It’s just a shame I forgot to take pics in work. I will do this again soon though!!
Why are the photographs that I take with my phone outside always such a better quality than those that I take inside? It’s probably because of the light but inside pics always look really shitty and grainy. Grr. I took that picture of the bus because it was so old. It was like walking onto a time warp. But old things are good, they make me smile.

I can’t believe I actually took a good shot of it once I got off the bus and it was driving away. Not bad for a phone camera.
In other news I am getting all my hair chopped off on Saturday. I can’t wait, my hair is just about shoulder length at the moment and it’s far, far too long. I re-dyed my hair black tonight and its just so sexy. Hah, my mother hates it when I dye my hair black because she says that it makes me look really pale but I love it. It’s the sexiest colour in my book.
Oh, and I’m going to do a ‘Day In The Life’ thing tomorrow, because they’re too fun. Photopost a -coming!

The course will start at the end of May and run for approx. 9 months. The Training Department will be in touch with you to arrange an Introduction Day where you will receive the course material and meet the other candidates.
Yours Sincerely,
Operations Director
Oh. My. God. I got in! I got it. They only pick 4 people per year from all the shops (around 50) who’ve applied for it. I cannot believe it - I’ve only been a supervisor a few months.
Never been so happy work wise than how I feel just now.
So, Doctor Who season 3 starts on Saturday the 31st of March at 7and I cannot wait. The transition between season 2 and season 3 has been easier than from 1 to 2 because Torchwood was on during some of that time but hell I’ve missed my weekly injection of David Tennent. Ok, that sounds rather sordid and fangirl-ish but it was intended. The Doctor Who site over at the BBC website has a rather teasing flash intro at the moment.
I had a whole week off work, which was spent de-cluttering my wardrobe. I actually really enjoyed doing it, I found lots of things that I had lost and found stuff I thought I’d already chucked out! I ended up with 6 full black bags of things for Oxfam, clothes and books mainly. I felt so good about myself for being generous (and not selling stuff on eBay like I was planning) and finally tidying it all out (after a year!).
The de-cluttering extended to my laptop. Initially I cleared about 5GB of junk from my internal drive which I was proud of. But then I decided to install Linux as a duel-boot OS which was all fine and dandy until it refused to boot at all about 4 days later. I gave up trying to fix it and just re-installed WindowsXP. So here I am, starting again. This is exactly why I keep all my music and must-have files on my external drives.
When I went back to work on Friday though everything came down with a crash, literally. At around 7:05am I heard an almighty crash and immediately ran out to the shop floor. It turns out that a delivery van had reversed into one of our shop windows (our windows run full height of the shop) and had smashed it. Although the window didn’t come crashing into the shop it was still smashed. It was - and still is - being held together by the full sized fascia stickers on the inside of the window.
I felt so bad for the guy that did it as well. Accidents happen and although it was a stupid one it looks like he’s lost his job out of it as it was a different driver that showed up yesterday morning. Oh well…
The weekend was fun, the boy and I went shopping for a new bed and he ended up getting a big divan bed. We went with his mum (hey, we needed her driving skills!) and spent about 4 hours trawling across the south side of Glasgow for a bed! Apparently he’s never going shopping with both of us again. Ah well, at least we have a comfy bed now.
Nothing beats internet radio stations. Over the past few Sunday’s I’ve been listening to Hot Wild Music Orgies With Elyse on K-IRB. And I think that you should too. You also have to come into the chat room because all the cool kids go there.
Elyse is on air between 7pm-10pm EST (GMT -5). She plays a wild selection of songs from Blink-182 - Fuck A Dog to a lot of Sufjan Stevens and the sing/type-along at the end of the show is priceless fun.
Give Away Of The Day aim to give away a different piece of licensed software each day. Over the past few days some of the software given away included FTP Synchronizer Professional, Direct WAV MP3 Splitter and Chronograph
This is one of the best websites that I’ve come across, it’s 100% legit and is seriously cool. Add their feed to your RSS reader to ensure you don’t miss out on great software!
Does anyone want a VIRB invite?.
I know that they are giving out free accounts but there’s only so many per day. Comment below and I shall email you an invite.
Also, to answer Melanie’s question - VIRB is a social networking site, bring together: bloggers, designers, musicians, music fans, photographers, fashionistas… anyone with creative flair of some sort ![]()
It’s fun too, mmmm for CSS freedom to create a profile. Ish.
As well as having a website to get up and running next week for a guy who works next to my mum I also have to fix his computer. The drives aren’t getting power, so I know how to fix it. It’s just that when I tried to last night it just would not work. At all. The IDE cables were in right, the master/slave setting s were set right but no cookies for Mel. It just wouldn’t recognize the drives. Ohwells.
I have the whole of next week off! This has worked out so well. I’m day shift on Saturday, back shift on Sunday then off Monday-Thursday. Day shift on Friday and then off ’til Monday at 4pm. It’s amazingly good.
RULES: Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.
I cannot believe that I came home from work this evening and fell asleep on the sofa as soon as I had eaten my dinner. I’m 20 years old - far too young for this constantly being tired lark. I was planning on adding the content to the website that I’m designing for a friend’s business and now I don’t have the time to do it as I need to sleep again within the next few hours to ensure I sleep all night and am nice and refreshed for work tomorrow. Plus I have so much housework to do tonight. Ironing, sorting clothes, empty the dishwasher, put the now-clean clothes on the radiators and put an other washing in.
Yesterday afternoon I was supposed to finish work at 4pm but I hung back for a while. The reason was that the manageress was doing two interviews between 4pm and 5pm and I figured I would stay in case a supervisor was needed on the shop floor (ie to get change, give out scratch cards,do voids). Oh and I’m glad I stuck around!! The first girl didn’t show up for her interview (I hate that. She didn’t even phone!) and the second guy was just a bit weird. The fact that he went to kiss my boss as she was opening the door for him at the end of the interview says a lot. Thankfully, however, my boss has employed a nice enough looking woman for the weekend job. I’ll be working with her 4 days a month and I’m glad that it’s her that got the job and not the guy. The other bonus is that she’s in her 30s and I think that this will be such a good thing, instead of having a bunch of students in all the time. This means that there’s now six staff members over the age of 21 (seven next month when I turn 21) out of 12 people. Nothing against students, it’s just that older people have a better work ethic!
I’ve went off topic again! Anyway, when I left work yesterday I went and waited on a bus for what seemed like ages. By the time I got to Busby I gave up and got off the bus and jumped on the train that I knew was due. It worked out really well because I was only going two stops and didn’t pay as the conductor didn’t go through my carriage! When I got off in my town I waited about 20minutes on an other bus to take me to my house and gave up (again!). I ended up getting a taxi straight to my house. Hell, when I got in when I looked like I’d just stepped out of the shower. It was so, so rainy last night. I cannot wait to get a car…
Since installing version 2.1 of WordPress I’ve came across a few weird bugs. Not being able to delete posts and pages is one - the only way that I can do it is by disabling JS in FireFox and then deleting the page or post. Which, you know, is a pain in the arse. Not being able to add new categories is an other. I’m the only user, I’m an admin and yet I don’t have permission to do anything to my settings. It is extremely annoying to be honest.
The one that I’m having problems with just now however is displaying my WinAmp generated playlist. It’s just not happening. I can display text, but as soon as I paste straight from a .txt document nothing appears. Anybody have any idea why?
That is all. I’m going to make Doctor Who cookies in the shape of Daleks. Coz I rock.
Long story short: If you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days, your files may include a security exploit that was added by a cracker, and you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately.
Also, I suggest that you read this post and update your WP install as soon as possible if you’ve recently updated to V2.1.1.
I am currently re-designing this website, even though it is still live. As long as you realize that the site may have some bugs, errors or mistakes cropping up, then you are free to still look around. Please - let me know what you think!!
Yes, I am one lucky girl. I worked 6hours Sunday and Monday, had Tuesday off, did 8 hours yesterday and I’m off again today. Only to work 8 hours tomorrow and have Saturday & Sunday off.
It was quite amusing how I ended up with today off actually. The AM worked a 15 hour shift on Tuesday as the BS supervisor called in sick. So instead of calling me he just called our manageress and said he’d quite happily stay and do the rest of the shift. Which is fair enough, we’ve all done it. Then I found out that he was taking today off to make up for it. Uhh, right. I already planned to have today off to make up for the extra hours I’ve pulled over the last month. I didn’t have anything planned but I knew that my period was due today and I’d rather sit online drinking coffee and hot chocolate all day than be working in pain. Anyways, I got today off since the AM isn’t working his Sunday shift and failed to mention that to our area manager. I never take time off, even if I’m due back hours. I just needed to have today off. I’m sure that he hates me, really. He’s applied for the Trainee Manager’s Programme too, possibly because I did and I’m 12 years younger than him, only a supervisor and have less experience. Fuck it, I really want on that course.
Anyways, that looks like an other rant about work. I know I make it hard to see that I love that place & my job - but I do really.
Since I’m off today I have so much that I want to do to this site, especially adding a Flickr plugin to show all my pictures and updating my reading list and maybe even writing a review or too. I also, seriously, need to fix the issue with MSIE and my themes. I have no idea how they broke, but I need to fix them.
