I've been able to delete posts and pages just fine, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe do a plugin check? Go down the list deactivating each one and see if its any one plugin that's being a butthead. I had problems with plugin compatibility majorly after I upgraded to 2.1, so that's my best guess.
