Work-a-holic

I cannot believe that I came home from work this evening and fell asleep on the sofa as soon as I had eaten my dinner. I’m 20 years old - far too young for this constantly being tired lark. I was planning on adding the content to the website that I’m designing for a friend’s business and now I don’t have the time to do it as I need to sleep again within the next few hours to ensure I sleep all night and am nice and refreshed for work tomorrow. Plus I have so much housework to do tonight. Ironing, sorting clothes, empty the dishwasher, put the now-clean clothes on the radiators and put an other washing in.

Yesterday afternoon I was supposed to finish work at 4pm but I hung back for a while. The reason was that the manageress was doing two interviews between 4pm and 5pm and I figured I would stay in case a supervisor was needed on the shop floor (ie to get change, give out scratch cards,do voids). Oh and I’m glad I stuck around!! The first girl didn’t show up for her interview (I hate that. She didn’t even phone!) and the second guy was just a bit weird. The fact that he went to kiss my boss as she was opening the door for him at the end of the interview says a lot. Thankfully, however, my boss has employed a nice enough looking woman for the weekend job. I’ll be working with her 4 days a month and I’m glad that it’s her that got the job and not the guy. The other bonus is that she’s in her 30s and I think that this will be such a good thing, instead of having a bunch of students in all the time. This means that there’s now six staff members over the age of 21 (seven next month when I turn 21) out of 12 people. Nothing against students, it’s just that older people have a better work ethic!

I’ve went off topic again! Anyway, when I left work yesterday I went and waited on a bus for what seemed like ages. By the time I got to Busby I gave up and got off the bus and jumped on the train that I knew was due. It worked out really well because I was only going two stops and didn’t pay as the conductor didn’t go through my carriage! When I got off in my town I waited about 20minutes on an other bus to take me to my house and gave up (again!). I ended up getting a taxi straight to my house. Hell, when I got in when I looked like I’d just stepped out of the shower. It was so, so rainy last night. I cannot wait to get a car…
