T In The Park

, the best Scottish festival, starts in just under 6 days time. I am, without a doubt, rather excited. I have everything ready (aside from my bus ticket to get me there but hey, I’ll walk if I have to) and still have to decide which clothes to take with me (lets face it - Scottish weather is annoying to out in advance) but I’m ready. New wellies have been bought, new jumpers have been purchased from Adventure One (seriously good wee shop for any other TITP-ers, it’s the one next to Avalanche Records at Queen Street St.) and the big camping bag has been found in the abyss that is my wardrobe. I have a pink camping chair, bought by my boyfriend, a lilac roll mat for under our new double air bed, and a green king size sleeping bag from Argos. £s;40 for a double air bed and king size sleeping bag? Yes please! Thanks to a nice wee email from a friend I have an idea of which order the bands are running in and I’ve hit a brick wall. Here’s why:

  • Friday

    1. Lily Allen - 5pm-5.50pm
    2. The Coral - 6.20-7.20pm
    3. The Ads - 8.05pm - 8.35pm
    4. Artic Monkeys - 9.20pm-10.50pm

So far, not a problem aside from lots of time in between bands. Now the actual problems:

    16. Queens Of The Stoneage - 9.40-10.50pm

See, my problem is that every band I want to see is on at the same time as something else I want to see. Geoff Ellis, if I promise to stop my mates dropping their empty Tennents glasses when they’ve drank their beers can I change the lineup please? Hah!

For as far back as I can remember I have been rather unlucky when it comes to hardware. My first laptop burned and died with no notice, my second the same. I still haven’t bought a new one due to serious, serious lack of funds. And now my trusty little phone, an 02 Ice, has given up the ghost when it comes to transferring images to a computer. The camera on my phone is pretty good for a basic-level phone, with a 1.3MP camera. Considering the phone cost me £39.99 I think that’s rather bloody good. But now I can’t get the PCSYNC software to install and cannot find it to download. So I’m going to have to bluetooth the pictures to my mum’s phone and then use her Nokia PC Suite software to transfer my images to her computer and then upload them here. It’s worth it though, for pretty pictures of stuff.

I’ve tried emailling 02 with no luck. I’d try calling them but it’s 25p per minute from an 02 phone and even more than that from a non-02 phone. Not chuffed. I just want to be able to get the software from somewhere.

In good news, however, I’ve just booked the B&B in Blackpool for the 27th and 28th of July. It cost me £250 for 5 people for two nights. Which, y’know, is pretty damn good. Granted the boys will be paying the £50 for the accomodation themselves but I’m sending a cheque on Friday to cover the £80 deposit which covers mine & the boy’s fare. Then it’s just the bus tickets and Pleasure Beach tickets to get.

It’s going to be a rather great weekend. At the moment there’s 5 of us going, with the chance of two more tagging along. We’re going down on the Friday morning and coming back on Sunday night/Monday morning. I plan to go to the Pleasure Beach on the Saturday during the day and then go to The Manchester for dinner before hitting the pubs & clubs later that night. Sunday will be taken up with the Museum, the Conspiracy Theory Museum, shopping, pub lunch, a ride on the trams (sorry I’m such a big kid, I love Blackpool trams) and perchance a trip up Blackpool Tower if I’m feeling brave…

Seriously, if you do not want to know what happened in episode 11 (Utopia) do not read ahead. That means you too Elyse

…and decided to on the . It’s amazing what only having access to the internet on the weekends does to me. I forget about this place and concentrate on my Bebo or something because it’s easier to keep in touch with people.

To be quite honest I haven’t been up to much recently, working mostly. I feel that it’s dragging me down because I take my job too seriously and I’m stressed to my eyeballs at the moment. So much going on which I can’t really talk about - but my mum’s not talking to me and I’d give anything to move out again.

I’m doing some around this place today while the boy’s watching Tank Overhaul on UKTV History. He’s such a WWII geek! I hope he realises that I’ll be changing the channel at 7pm when Who’s on. One more week and Cptn. Jack’s back….

Oh and best news ever - StarBucks is coming to East Kilbride! No more having to go into town for a frappe, yas!
