I only know one person who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. This person died recently and it broke my heart - they were the most helpful, kind and caring person I’ve known.
- This person looked after me when I finished school between the ages of 5 and 8.
- They picked me up and took me to their house until my mum finished work and could pick me up herself.
- They were full of great stories of life and people.
- They spent there whole life working in hospitals, as a porter and later as a bus driver for the children’s charity the Variety Club.
This person was my great-uncle. Because of him, I’m going Pink for October and I urge anyone who’s been effected by breast cancer to do so.

Hey there! Seems like many people are going pink for October! I’m really considering it, too :] My mum’s friend had breast cancer and survived. Such a horrible thing to encounter. May your loved one rest in peace. Take care!

Wow. That’s so awful to hear your great-uncle had breast cancer. But, at least he led a good life. Mari is very sorry to hear that he died.
Lovely Pink for October theme. Did you do the Sandbox modification yourself? It’s really quite impressive!

Nice to see someone else going Pink for October. =)
BTW. You seem VERY familiar. This site name really rings a bell, as do you. By any chance, you weren’t hosted on Avenue28.org at any point, were you? If so, it’s Brandy, your ex-host. ;]

Hi Melissa! Thanks for visiting my site. :)
I know three people from work who have had breast cancer. The good thing was they all survived…and surpassed the trial. Very recently, just last year…my boss was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now she feels good and is back to work. I hope she’ll continue to be well.

Sophia, that it such a shame - but it just goes to show that so many men have breast cancer as well - it’s not just a female form of cancer.
I wish there was more media coverage for male breast cancer, a report that I read stated that around 250 men are diagnosed with breast cancer a year in the UK alone.

Wow you did a good job with this theme. I really like it. I’m using a premade…I suck at design…
